ENGINEERED PRODUCTS
CSI has the largest engineering staff in the packaging industry, bringing hundreds of years in compression design experience to your project. This ensures the final product will meet the project requirements and exceed your expectations. The engineering team consists of unique talents gathered from the production, drilling, and service industries to bring extensive operational knowledge to your project. They constantly research and develop innovative designs and techniques to improve your ability to move gas. In addition, they work closely with key suppliers to field test and develop the latest changes in technology. The result - superior product design and lower overal costs.
CSI's goal is to provide customers with innovative solutions to tough problems while lowering their risk with new technology. Through a joint design process, teams including the customer, suppliers and CSI's sales, application and project engineers, evaluate the life cycle of the project.
Equipment costs, installation, operations and maintenance expenses, environmental factors and changing conditions are all considered in the development of compression specifications. This approach generates improved operating characteristics and project profitability. From the latest microprocessing controls to custom unloading designs, CSI stands behind the promise of dependability for the entire system. Whether your project is a new concept or a rework of an existing compressor station, our engineering approach is driven by CSI's mission to optimize your total compression capabilities.

ASSEMBLY
With over 130,000 square feet of manufacturing capabilities, we take on the largest fabrication projects. Each step of construction is completed by a team of experienced CSI Technitians. These specialists demonstrate pride in craftmanship by delivering consistent quality project after project.
CSI's conservative design philosophy focuses on structural integrity to ensure dependability under adverse conditions. Each step in the manufacturing process utilizes materials and fabrication methods to maximize the product value.
Skids are manufactured with heavy wide-flange beam cut to precise dimensions using automated processes. Specially designed skid trunions, exclusive to CSI, allow all welds to be performed in the flat position which ensures maximum penetration and weld metal deposition. Skids are constructed with full cross-based beam to increase structural rigidity and minimize vibration and metal fatigue. In addtion, skids are concrete filled to assist energy transfer though the base.
Completed systems can be connected to CSI's on-site test loop where units are put under load in controlled situations duplicating field conditions. This allows our team to verify performance capabilites by testing and documenting a wide range of operating conditions before the system leaves our facility. The final result - well designed, dependable reciprocating and rotary screw compressor packages that perform in a variety of applications:
• Well-head compression
• Gas gathering and storage systems
• Pipeline
• Pipeline station optimization
• Refrigeration plant compression
• Gas processing
• Gas transmission
• Gas lift
• Fuel gas boosters
• Carbon dioxide injection
• Pressure maintenance
No two projects are alike and with CSI's extensive experience in design, installation and operation of these applications, you are assured success in the field.

PROJECT ENGINEERING
When you bring CSI's engineering capabilites to your project team, you engage hundreds of years in compression design experience, combining unique talents gathered from the production transmission and construction industries as well as CSI's experience in building over 5,000 compression systems.
Our team works with you to evaluate the life cycle of your project and to consider all aspects that will affect the compression specifications including equipment costs, installation, operation and maintenance expenses, environmental factors and changing field conditions. Having designed and packaged over 2 million HP, CSI's team is ready to take on your project and optimize your compression capabilities.
QUALITY CONTROL
Ensuring a quality product is delivered each and every time is part of the CSI guaranty. All CSI pressure valves and gas piping are manufactured on location. They are subjected to rigorous hydrostatic testing, x-ray, and other quality control procedures which surpass all ASMI and ANSI industry standards.
Completed systems can be connected to CSI's on-site test loop where units are put under load in controlled situations duplicating conditions. This allows our team to verify our performance capabilities by testing and documenting a wide range of operating conditions.

Figure One illustrates an offshore platform package designed and fabricated by C.S.I. for Duke Energy Field Services. The platform is located at Main Pass 225. While the package required a number of unique twists due to pulsation concerns, space limitations and weight restrictions, the project was challenging in its own right because C.S.I.'s commitment to meet the deadline despite a number of unforeseeable design challenges and weather delays. The resulting package is the first Waukesha 12V-AT27 GL engine, (capable of 3130 BHP at 1000 rpm), with an Ariel JGD/4 compressor with four 11 3/8 DLC pipeline cylinders with 11.375" bore. Currently one other well from an unmanned platform feeds into the above platform and the combined gas flows through a 20 inch line to a processing plant in Venice, LA. The total package weighs 330,000 lbs. The package was up and running April 22nd.
Challenges encountered:
- Due to the helicopter pad situated 27 ft. 8 in. just above the area designated for the package, a design in an overhead cooler resulted. The challenge was that the length of the cooler meant it would have to go up on legs, so the design had to be an overhead cooler design and still stay under 27 ft. 8 in.
