“MIDLAND, TEXAS, USA – July 28, 2011” Compressor Systems Australia, Pty. Ltd. (CSA), a wholly owned subsidiary of Compressor Systems, Inc. (CSI), Midland, Texas, USA, is pleased to announce the acquisition of Roma Diesel Service (RDS) located in Roma, Queensland, Australia on July 19, 2011.
RDS was founded in 1988 by Robert Arnold who remains with the company today. Beginning as a provider of service on diesel engines, RDS has grown to 40 employees and has expanded to provide products and services supporting the local oil and gas industry. With locations in Roma, Dalby, and Brisbane, the company now offers gas and diesel generators, well head production equipment, pressure vessel fabrication, and a variety of field services. Robert Arnold said “We are very happy to be a part of this professional organization and look forward to the synergies that will lead to continued growth”.
The purchase represents a strengthening of CSA’s position in Australia, a market of considerable growth with a surge of excitement in the coal seam methane gas play. “Through this acquisition, CSI gains a strategic foothold to reach its long-term international objectives. This demonstrates our commitment to being a premier provider in Australia” said Mike Luna, General Manager of International Operations for CSI.
Tim Knox, CSI President said, “Robert has done an excellent job building a service and fabrication business right in the heart of the Bowen and Surat Basins. We welcome the RDS employees to our team and look forward to growing the existing business while also expanding our ability to respond to the natural gas compression opportunities in eastern Australia. The variety of experience that Robert and Mike, along with Alex Wright who leads our activities in Australia, bring to this effort positions us well for serving the customers there.”
